Water Is Life, founded by Ken Surritte has come up with many innovations in bringing water to those who need it and the Drinkable Book, WiL’s latest innovation, and their filter straw are so exciting, they actually kept me up at night!

In investigating WiL, I first came across the Drinkable Book, an incredible innovation that was developed in partnership with Dr. Theresa Dankovich from Carnegie Mellon. The Drinkable Book, which provides clean water tips, is also a water purifying system which can provide clean drinking water for up to 4 years. Their website states “…WATERisLIFE introduced The Drinkable Book, the first-ever Manual that teaches safe water tips and serves as a tool to kill deadly waterborne diseases – providing the reader with an opportunity to create clean drinkable water on each page.”

WiL also has a straw filter which is a portable water purifier, which can be used in any water source to provide clean and safe drinking water. The straw costs about $10.00 and will last about a year.

WiL also welcomes others becoming involved and even making trips to distribute straws and other innovations.

When I interviewed founder Ken Surritte, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that 100% of all donations go direstly toward WiL products and services. Surrite does not even take any pay and says he has a small side job that sustains his living needs. I found him to be honest energetic and very excited about the results they are producing.

RealGoodNews found WiL to be a very worthy organization and are proud to support them in their very important work.
