Staff Sgt. Travis Mills may have lost his arms and legs in the war, but his immutable spirit cannot be quashed, and his desire and ability to help are an inspiration. Just a few short years after losing his limbs, Mills has bought a spa to help other vets heal their bodies and spirits. The project promises to become “the nation’s first fully accessible, ‘smart home’ retreat, dedicated to serving the recreational and reintegration needs of combat-wounded veterans and their families”.

The property, located in Maine, is the former Celebrity Spa owned by Elizabeth Arden. Mills purchased the property for just over $450K, and is raising another $1.7million to do renovations through a GoFundMe account.

This project seems worthy of all the support and love of the RealGoodNews family, and we certainly encourage our readers to donate and become part of this great solution.

Mills’ desire and ability to help in spite of his own problems and difficulties is truly inspirational and makes him a real hero in our book! RealGoodNews salutes Staff Sgt. Travis Mills for his incredible spirit, vision, dedication to helping humanity.
